Discovering Pi!!
By Melissa Skirrow and Katherine Brassard
What is pi?
• Pi or π is a mathematical constant whose value is the ratio of any circle’s circumference to its diameter. Pi is approximately equal to 3.14159
• Formula; C= πD circumference= Pi ÷ diameter
Averages
• To find the average of pi you need to divide the circumference by the diameter.
• Average = C/D
Examples of Pi
Object circumference diameter Cir./ diameter
Frisby 70cm 22.8cm 3.07
clock 76.5cm 25cm 3.75
Our Conclusion
• In conclusion , diameter and the circumference are essential to find the measurement of a circle. You have to measure the circumference and diameter of any circle and then divide the two measurements together.
